So , since the beginning of my training, when the day called for push ups, I had been doing push up with my knees on the ground. My body was still in the plank position but with my knees down. At first I was only able to do about 20 in row. I could do maybe 3 good regular push ups. As the training went on I was able to do more and more of the plank push ups. For the past month or so I have been doing 100 plank push ups through the day.
Well, about a week ago Carla challenged me to throw in a few regular push ups while doing the plank push ups. I was hesitant, mainly because I was so happy to be doing any kind of push up, I didn't want to discourage myself. A few nights ago I decided to try one. I laid on the floor and pushed up, I ended 15 push ups later! Real push ups! I haven't been able to do more than 5 in a row in years!! So now, thanks to the encouragement of my Carla, I am now doing regular push ups. I am only able to do 15 to the 30 of the plank but I'll take it. I have been trying to do 100 of the regular push ups a day, reps of 10. I am excited to see my progress. Good stuff.
